The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is a joint venture of Rio Tinto (58.7 per cent), Mitsubishi (26.2 per cent) and the Labrador Iron Ore Royalty Income Fund (15.1 per cent). Managed by the Rio Tinto Iron Ore group, IOC is Canada's largest iron ore pellet producer, maintaining an open pit mine, a concentrator and iron ore pellet making plant at Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as a 418km railway and port facilities at Sept Îles, Quebec, on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. With approximately 2000 employees, IOC has a global market selling to customers in North America, Europe and Asia. 
 
Reporting to the Supervisor, the successful candidate will ensure that maintenance activities are safely carried out to fixed plant, and associated facilities in a efficient manner.
 
The successful candidates must have experience in an industrial environment. Exposure to maintaining a wide variety of high pressure piping, steam lines/injecters, valves, air lines and heating systemps would be an asset. In addition, skill stes in plumbing will also be an asset. We require energetic, self-starters who are committed to achieving results and who want to grow with a large successful organization.

Located in Labrador City, the ideal candidate must hold an inter-provincial pipefitter journeyperson certificate or be an apprentice with relevant experience. Additional consideration given to graduate of a multi-skilled program (welder-pipefitter). Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
