On Monday, 26 September, Rio Tinto is launching a Canadian advertising campaign. This exciting campaign will feature employment opportunities on television, in print, on radio and on social media platforms.

The campaign, which represents Rio Tinto’s first brand awareness campaign in Canada, aims to attract candidates for new and replacement roles in a wide variety of disciplines from coast to coast.

Potential candidates will be directed to jobs.riotinto.ca, where they can apply on jobs and view videos, employee testimonials and much, much more.

Today, 23 September, you are invited to get a ‘sneak peek’ of the campaign’s :

Background regarding the campaign

Our extensive operations in Canada include :

  • Rio Tinto Alcan, which is investing US$650 million towards the modernisation and expansion of its Kitimat smelter in British Columbia; and US$1.2 billion towards Phase One of its AP60 smelting plant in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, Quebec;
  • the Iron Ore Company of Canada, which has initiated a US$826 million expansion in Newfoundland and Labrador as well as Sept-Îles, Quebec;
  • Diavik Diamond Mine, in which US$787 million is being invested for underground mining in the Northwest Territories; and
  • Rio Tinto, Fer et Titane for which a US$800 million investment is underway to sustain and improve its operations in Havre-Saint-Pierre and Sorel-Tracy, Quebec.
